THE NEED IS GREAT THIS YEAR! Just look at our ANGEL tree! This year we have two large families and one boy who has recently lost his family represented on our tree. Each angel has the name of one of the children and their age, with a gift item written on the back. These children need clothing items, and toys of course. Each child has more than one angel, so that he/she will have more than one present to open on Christmas morning!
We are asking that you come to Lone Star and choose an angel on our tree and take it and purchase the item on the back. Please bring back the wrapped gift with the angel attached and put it under our tree by Tuesday, December 22nd. We will deliver the items before Christmas to those people responsible for the children so they can put them under the trees on Christmas morning.
As you can see, we need your help! We know that we have an amazing community and we are counting on your generosity to make this Christmas a wonderful occasion for these children represented here. We are all so blessed. Please help us bless those less fortunate this Christmas.

Saturday 7:00am-9:00pm

Hello all! This Thanksgiving at Lone Star was the most amazing outreach with the most food we’ve ever seen in one place! Our thanks go out to every one of you for all of your extra cooking this holiday! We had so many volunteers for this event and really saw the whole community pull together to make this Thanksgiving outreach a huge success! We couldn’t have done this without you!
There was such an overwhelming outpouring of giving that we ended up with more food than those in the budget suites or the local food pantry needed. After we stopped serving at Lone Star we packed it all up on a bus and drove it all to a soup kitchen in Dallas called Urban Gospel Mission. They serve 200-250 meals a day! They were very thankful to receive the food and would be serving it all to the local individuals in need. Hundreds of people would be able to have a Thanksgiving Meal because of you!
So it seems that we actually reached more people than we ever planned on. You and your donations of food fed the hungry and less fortunate in the city of Dallas as well as our neighbours in The Colony.
This was an amazing experience and we appreciate every one of you who helped in any way! Those who stood and served food and those who worked in our kitchen were incredible! Thank you to those who cooked extra meals or brought loads of donations of food to us! Thank you to those who came to serve and stayed to clean. Thank you to those who helped us organize this event and thank you Bent Tree Bible Fellowship for the van and everything you so generously brought us.
We also want to thank those at Budget Suites for allowing us to do this, and to those at The Storehouse in The Colony for sending us food, helpers and people in need of a place to go for Thanksgiving Day.
We are hoping that those relationships that have been made as we joined hands and hearts to reach out to our community will continue to grow and that we will be able to do more in the future. We know that lives were touched.
We want Lone Star Coffee Bar to be known as a place where you can get more than just a cup of coffee. We want to be known as a place where you can find community. Thank you all for making that possible.

Thanksgiving Holiday Meal at Lone Star Coffee Bar! Thursday, Nov. 24th 3:00-6:00pm
This year we are reaching out to the community and those families who are living in the nearby Budget Suites in The Colony and also to those who are in need within our own Austin Ranch community who have nowhere to go for a Thanksgiving meal. The meal is free for all who need it. We will be taking donations of prepared holiday food items or money to help with the cost. We will also need helpers for the event who will be willing to serve.
Bent Tree Bible Fellowship is graciously allowing us to use their van to transport people to and from Lone Star Coffee Bar back to The Budget Suites. We will need volunteer drivers as well.
We are very excited to be able to open Lone Star Coffee Bar this Thanksgiving and bring our community together in doing so. We are all so blessed that we want to bless those less fortunate than ourselves.
We will have sign-up sheets for food items at the coffee bar or you can respond to this as well, or to our email address which is info@lonestarcoffeebar.com. We will need LOTS of food! And lots of help!
